Character study (Dasha, Cole, John)
- Beneatha
- Bennie, sister
- 20 years old
- Slim and intense like her brother; Not as pretty as Ruth; Has lean and almost intellectual face; Thick hair
- Her steps are very heavy at times when she is mad, but most of the time her walk is very light as she is still very young
- Her speech is a mixture of many things; It's different from the rest of the family’s insofar as education has permeated her sense of English—and perhaps the Midwest rather than the South has finally—at last—won out in her inflection; but not altogether, because over all of it is a soft slurring and transformed use of vowels which is the decided influence of the Southside.

- Has a good relationship with Mama (mother); Neutral with Ruth and Travis; Some type of tension in her relationship with brother; She is not that close with the family members as they are very different
- She always argues with Walter (mostly about her education and the money); argued with Mama because of religion
- She sleeps with Mama in her bedroom
- She goes to school
- She does not contribute much to the family
- Stubborn, determined, immature, strong
- Frustrated, annoyed, sad, satisfied
- Argues for fun with Walter Lee (s1), gets slapped by Mama for questioning Christianity (s1), talks with Asagai (s2)
- 1) That money belongs to Mama, Walter, and it’s for her to
decide how she wants to use it. I don’t care if she wants
to buy a house or a rocket ship or just nail it up
somewhere and look at it. It’s hers. Not ours—hers
2) The only people in the world who are more snobbish than rich white people are rich colored people
3) It’s all a matter of ideas, and God is just one idea I don’t accept. It’s not important. I am not going out and be immoral or commit crimes because I don’t believe in God. I don’t even think about it. It’s just that I get tired of Him getting credit for all the things the human race achieves through its own stubborn effort. There simply is no blasted God—there is only man and it is he who makes miracles!
1) I can’t imagine that it would hurt him—it has never hurt the roaches
2) You never understood that there is more than one kind of feeling which can exist between a man and a woman—or, at least, there should be
3) I’m not interested in being someone’s little episode in America - The fact that she went to school; her father's death; constant pressure from her brother and their age difference
- Education, education, education
- She wants to become a doctor
- Education, education, education
- Spend on her future - eg education, real estate

- Run the World by Beyonce, God is a Woman by A. Grande, Sit Still Look Pretty by Daya, Confident by D. Lovato, No Excuses by M. Trainor, Fight Song by R. Platten, Stubborn Woman by D. Jade, Independent Women Pt by Destiny's child
- A donkey because they are very stubborn
- Rosa Parks, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama

Quick question
- Get into NYU, make lots of friends and decide what I want to do with my life
- Continue mom's business successfully, travel to Japan and be super healthy
- I get sad and lose motivation, but start doing something else instead
- Both Bennie and Ruth, because Bennie is a teenager and her behavior around others is very relatable, and Ruth because she is very softhearted and the strongest mentally
- I would feel trapped because of how hopeless the situation is; Also possibly depressed because I would not be able to do anything to help and most likely would feel like a burden

Second draft of card paragraphs
The mystery of the flying castle
Setting:
Engulfed by an endless blue sky, a light tiny castle is surrounded by fluffy white clouds. Six strong yellow ropes carrying the building are attached to a huge balloon. Compared to the size of the sphere, the castle looks like a little toy, weighing nothing. All colors on the image are very harmonious - different shadows of blue, white and yellow naturally fit each other. The colors on the balloon are mostly various shadows of blue - dark blue, light blue, blue mixed with a little bit of green, and very dark blue, looking almost like black. The castle colors are mostly different shadows of blue as well, however, there is a little yellow on the walls, implying the sunlight. In comparison to such an abundance of colors on the building and on the balloon, the plain white clouds look too simplistic and dull. The windows on the castle are all different sizes - some are tiny, some are huge. All roofs are conical, and the three main ones that are the tallest have little windows on them.
Plot:
All of a sudden, a tremendous earthquake struck the peaceful lands of Alfheim. A castle standing on a steep hill almost bounced off the ground. The thick walls began cracking, causing panic among the castle workers. Running around the building and trying to look for a safe spot, the workers did not notice any change outside the windows. The shaking and cracking did not stop, but the cause of it was different - making loud creaking noises, the building was slowly going up into the sky. The only calm soul in the entire building was the lord himself - sitting on a wide soft armchair, he was looking at the changing landscape outside the wide windows in his office. The tall green trees shrank in size and looked like little bushes; the houses in the nearby village reminded the old man of a dollhouse he bought for his daughter. Soon, he could only see huge white clouds and an endless blue sky outside the windows.
Only after the building reached the sky and all the shaking stopped, the frightened workers noticed a change in the landscape. Shocked, they stood still and stared at the plain blue sky. A few moments later, the lord came out of his office and said: "Please take a seat, our journey will be long.". After these words, he told them a long story about the strange earthquake, about the huge balloon carrying them and about where exactly it is going to take them. Listening to this mysterious story, none of them noticed that the memories of their loved ones started fading away... Moments shared with those outside the castle were replaced with the episodes spent within the thick walls. By the time the flying castle landed in sunny lands of Crimea, not a single soul in the building remembered their past outside the building.
